Communities in Schools – Volunteers Needed
Communities in Schools of Wake County has worked in partnership with the Wake County Public School System for over 20 years to serve students in need. Volunteers are needed at East Wake Middle School and Knightdale High School. Opportunities include tutoring, mentoring and reading. If you would be willing to help, please sign up in the church lobby.
Adopt A Highway
Northside has adopted First Avenue in Knightdale. The Adopt A Highway program is designed to keep the streets and sidewalks clean. We will be responsible for picking up trash every three months. If you would like to be a part of this program, you must sign up.
Ronald McDonald House
Volunteers Needed Volunteers are needed for the Ronald McDonald Room at WakeMed Hospital. On average 500-600 family members of sick children visit the room on a monthly basis. The room is strictly operated by volunteers, without a volunteer the room is closed. A three hour shift can give comfort and make a difference in someone’s life. For additional information please contact Kim Poole at
Locks of Love
Want to make a difference in a child's life? Thousands of local children are battling cancer. In most cases that means they're losing their hair during a very delicate age where too much of an importance is placed on appearances. Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that takes donated hair and makes wigs for these children. If you're interested in joining in the donation process, contact Heather Peterson at church for more details on the guidelines.
Drink Coffee. Do Good.
To maintain a ministry focus in everything we do, Northside will begin serving coffee from Land Of A Thousands Hills Coffee Company. This coffee is grown and cultivated by families in Rwanda and sold here in the United States to provide living wages to those families for rebuilding their communities. We will also be offering bags of coffee for sale to also help support this ministry. You can check them out at www.drinkcoffeedogood.com.
