Giving

Giving is one of the central themes in the Bible. Jesus talked more about
this subject than heaven, hell or prayer. To understand what it means to be
a Christian, we must also understand what it means to be a giver.
First Things First
God doesn't need our money; He already owns it all. But when we willingly
set aside the first part of our income for the local church, our hearts will be
turned toward Him.
"
For where your treasure is, there is your heart also." Matthew 6:21
Know Giving...Know Life
Giving is the antidote for materialism. The Bible says that by giving generously
we are able to "
take hold of the life that is truly life. "
(I Timothy 6:19) You aren't really living unless you are freely giving.
The Treasure Test
Giving is the only area in the Bible where God invites us to test Him.
"
Give your tithe (the first 10% of your income)
to God and see if
He does not open the floodgates of heaven to bless you in ways that you never
dreamed possible." (Malachi 3:10)
An Eternal Investment
Even when the stock market is down, you can make an investment that pays dividends
for a lifetime and beyond. Only two things will last forever: People and The Church.
By investing in the life-changing message of the church, you can leverage your money
for eternity.
"
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it." (I Timothy 6:7)
Ways To Give
You can participate in giving in a number of ways. Whether it be by cash,
check, stocks, bonds or mutual funds, we will provide you with a record of your
giving for tax purposes and you will be supporting the hottest thing going - the
local church.
Matching Gifts
Double or Triple your donation
If your company has a matching gifts program, you may be able to double or even
triple the amount of your donation to Northside Community Church. Please see your
company's human resources department and ask them how you can set up a matching gift.
Stocks, Bonds, & Mutual Funds
Give without incurring Capital Gains
Stocks, bonds and mutual funds are a great way to give without incurring
capital gains on assets. You can transfer your stock gift from your account directly
to the church's account. We will sell the asset and apply the amount of the sale to
your annual contribution statement. If you have a stock certificate on hand, you may
bring the document to the church office with a letter of intent. If you have any questions
email us at
or call the church office at 919-261-8929.
Write A Check
Sometimes Simple is Better
This one is pretty self-explanatory. If you would like to write a check, you may do
so and either bring it with you to the next service or mail it to:
